Christina Sandhoff
Co-Founder, Co-Executive/Artistic Director

Christina began formal dance training at age twelve, and instantly felt it was something she would be doing all her life.  Christina spent four years on her high school dance team and went on to coach and/or choreograph in Colorado Public Schools for six years, most recently serving as head varsity coach at Castle View High School in Castle Rock in 2006-2007.  Christina is a former Nuggets Dancer who loves to teach and perform.  She is trained mostly in Jazz and hip-hop and still enjoys taking classes whenever she can!  Christina lives with her husband, Derek, in Parker and they have an energetic and loving three year old son, Austin Roger.  The family welcomed the birth of their second child, Savannah, in September!

For Christina, The Movement isn’t just the name of a dance company, it is a way of life.  It’s a "movement" toward self acceptance and truth.  Working with young dancers through high schools, she sees too often the hardships our teenage girls face and the difficulty they have accepting and loving themselves for who they are and how God made them.  Through The Movement Dance Co. Christina hopes to reach out to young women and express to them that in order to love others, you first must love and respect yourself and help develop a solid sense of self and security.

Jaime Cardenas Southwick
Co-Founder, Co-Executive/Artistic Director

Beginning her dance study at age fourteen, Jaime quickly discovered dance to be her true passion, and she has continued to pursue it through many venues.

Jaime began her professional career in 1998 with Damsels.  She has danced at half-time shows, Disney Land, and local charities to name a few performances.  Jaime’s passion for dance has also been expressed through her award-winning lyrical, contemporary jazz, and tap choreography.  Jaime has an extensive teaching background in dance.  In 2004 Jaime danced with and choreographed for the Spirit Moved Dance Company in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Jaime loves life in Colorado! She and her supportive husband Brock are the proud parents of a beautiful little girl, Dylan.  Brock and Jaime gratefully welcomed their new addition, Savannah, in July.   Through The Movement Dance Co. Jaime is fulfilling a longtime dream of creating thoughtful, inspirational dance.  Jaime’s inspiration for making a stage for women of integrity and passion and keeping family values and morals comes from her heart.  She leads in a way to enable women to express their deepest passion and love for life by way of creative movement.  Her ultimate focus is to serve God throughout her life.
